In 2016, we’ve managed to release three versions of PBS, each one surpassing their predecessors with more advantageous updates after the next. Today, in 2017, we’re finally releasing Page Builder Sandwich Version 4.0 in commemoration of its very first birthday.
솔직히 말씀드리면, 결코 쉬운 일은 아니었습니다.
하지만 2015년의 소박했던 시작과 비교해 볼 때, 이제 Page Builder Sandwich는 베타 시절 이후로 비약적인 발전을 이루었다고 자신 있게 말씀드릴 수 있습니다.

Taking a step back and looking at the different versions that PBS went through, it has really changed for the better. Some learning mistakes just made us cringe and laugh!
Enhanced User Interface
For versions 3.0 and 4.0, we’ve made some major improvements with regards to the user interface. Pippin’s insight really made a wake-up call to us!

Engaging in conversation and taking note of feedback has always been important to us, and is (and always will be) an integral part of Page Builder Sandwich’s continued growth. Out of all of PBS’ features though, we’ve received quite a number of critiques regarding the previous versions’ UI’s. All of them had one common denominator that many believed was detrimental to PBS’ functionality: the color scheme. According to most, it was too aggressive and did not compliment WordPress’ color palette. We’ve since addressed this issue in Version 4.0, constructing an improved UI with toned-down colors, all while still keeping PBS’ signature drag-and-drop UI intact.
Mobile Responsiveness
태블릿과 스마트폰과 같은 기기가 시장을 점점 더 장악해 감에 따라, 대부분의 페이지 빌더가 동의하는 또 다른 공통 기능은 모바일 반응형 디자인의 필요성입니다.
Because of this, we’ve tackled mobile responsiveness in Version 4.0’s release. Viewing pages built with PBS now becomes a smoother, more efficient experience, with your page’s UI adapting to your device’s screen resolutions.
이에 더해, 이제 PBS는 데스크톱에서도 모바일 미리보기를 지원합니다. 이를 통해 실제 기기를 사용하지 않고도 모바일이나 태블릿 등 필요한 모드에서 페이지가 어떻게 보이는지 쉽게 미리 확인할 수 있습니다.
게다가 이제 PBS에서는 사용자가 다른 화면 크기에 영향을 주지 않고 데스크톱, 모바일, 태블릿에서 각각 변경 사항을 적용할 수 있습니다.
What’s New: Features
Full Page Templates
PBS 출시 이후 주목했던 또 다른 점은 사용자들이 특정 틈새시장(niche)을 기반으로 페이지를 구축하는 경향이 있다는 것이었습니다. 페이지를 제작할 때 이는 당연한 일이지만, 사용자 입장에서는 이러한 특정 분야 중심의 페이지를 구축할 때 다소 문제가 되기도 합니다. 예를 들어, Page Builder Sandwich로 제작된 전자상거래 사이트는 사진 갤러리가 있는 일반적인 일상 블로그에 비해 처음부터 만들려면 더 많은 시간이 소요될 것입니다. 이러한 유형의 웹사이트에 대한 수요가 지속적으로 증가함에 따라, 저희는 마침내 해결책으로 PBS의 전체 페이지 템플릿(Full Page Templates)을 선보이게 되었습니다..
전체 페이지 템플릿은 사전 디자인된 섹션과 어떻게 다른가요?
PBS actually has a feature similar to the Full Page Templates, the Pre-Designed Sections. Since our team has been aware that there are users who lack the time to design and layout their pages and sites, the Pre-Designed Sections were built for this specific purpose. The Pre-Designed Sections are small, individual layouts professionally designed to be mixed and matched together to build a page. However, while they are pre-designed, they aren’t full page, and are not niche-based.
The Full Page Templates are different in that they’re designed to be used for an entire landing page, and they’re laden with features that commonly go with a particular niche. For example, upon accessing PBS’ Hotel Template, you’ll find that with it comes a map, contact details, and sections specifically designed for enumerating the hotel’s amenities. Similarly, the PBS Fashion Template includes a carousel feature for showcasing fashion ensembles for modern shops. These templates can also be tweaked and adjusted to suit the user’s needs and taste, of course.
서드파티 플러그인에 대한 더욱 쉬워진 접근성
WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields, Events Calendar, Instagram Feed, Contact Form 7, NextGen Gallery, among others, are now more accessible with Version 4.0. This means that if you have these plugins activated in your PBS-run site, you can now add them with more ease.
요청이 많았던 요소 및 기능: 향상된 기능성과 더 다양한 디자인 기능
In the span of a year, we would regularly receive suggestions and requests for features that are currently in-demand in the page builder market. Among these include Parallax Scrolling, Video Backgrounds, Ken Burns Backgrounds, features that increase the aesthetic value of your page; and elements such as Pricing Tables, Testimonials, Countdowns, and Milestones to enhance your page’s functionality. With the release of Version 4.0, we’ve finally accomplished these and more. We’re sure your PBS experience will be even more worthwhile this time around.
